My secret to great hair!
For those that know me well the one thing I think my family and friends would say about me is I’m a little obsessed with my hair. I literally have had every style you can imagine from pig-tails in kindy, spiral perms in high school, hair extensions and in terms of colour the only shade I haven’t been is black. I love the freedom of being able to mix things up, having the courage to try something new but most importantly the trust I give my stylist regularly to create a look that will suit me, my lifestyle and personality. So pay attention because I’m about to share with you my secret to achieving great hair, every day!
There’s those moments in life that are vivid and without any exaggeration I distinctly remember meeting Matt Clements, Wife and business partner Kristin O’Connor nearly 14 years ago. I was in Brisbane for Christmas, had a new born baby and felt drab from a combination of sleep deprivation and no time to visit a salon. I decided I was going to seek out the best in the City and have them make me over. I still remember how I felt when I looked in the mirror after Matt and Kristin had weaved their magic; refreshed, edgy and a total ‘Yummy Mummy!’
So imagine my excitement of being able to have this experience here on the Sunshine Coast, opposite the beach in the heart of Alex. After establishing hugely successful careers a need for lifestyle and quality family time beckoned and The Assembly Hair was born nearly a decade ago. Being keen surfers and growing up with a love of the outdoors the Coast was a natural destination for this talented duo. The Assembly team all come with a wealth of experience and industry knowledge as well. Matt has been awarded Australian Colour Technician of the Year an outstanding 4 times and is one of the International Colour Ambassadors for Schwarzkopf Professional. When not in salon he spends much of his time travelling to Europe, Asia and Japan shooting global trend collections as well as being a highly sort after hair educator to thousands worldwide. Kristin’s talent for being able to give you ‘the best haircut you’ll ever have’ stems from years of experience, a unique edge and The Assembly’s core beliefs that the secret to creating a great look for a client is ‘suitability and execution.’
For Matt and Kristin naturally spare time is something they’d like more of. Beautiful daughter Reno and the newest addition to the family British Bull-dog Kingsley enjoy being poolside, at the beach surfing, sharing good food with friends and family or cruising around in Matt’s pride and joy, a 59 Chevy.
