My latest Accessory!
It’s fair to say we’re a family that loves the latest gadgets. We literally have shares in Apple with the amount of new things that have made their way into our home over the years. Being not overly tech-savvy myself I’m not ashamed to admit that I need the assistance of my clever 11 and 14-year-old boys at times to operate the many gismos we own. Even a control seemingly as simple as the Apple TV remote can prove a challenge for this 40something-Mum-with-no-clue!
Santa was very generous at Christmas when we all received a Series 3 Apple Watch under the tree. My husband Lance and our boys we’re so excited, they’d pulled them out of the box, slapped them on their wrists and in no time at all they’d started navigating around it’s many cool features. For me, the watch was stylish to look at but much to my family’s amusement I was at a loss as to how to even turn it on. After a little resistance to the idea I popped it on and thought I should try and see what all the fuss was about.
One of the things I love about it is the cellular LTE connectivity. The convenience of being able to answer phone calls, send messages and get updates on social media from my watch, without Wi-Fi or a paired iPhone close by, is futuristic and I’ve found so incredibly convenient. The fitness options seem endless and it does everything you’ll find from a Fitbit and so much more. If anything, it makes me want to be more active with its regular reminders to stand up and move. There’s no lazy days if you’ve got the watch on your wrist. I like to walk several times a week and am enjoying pairing my watch to my Beats wireless headphones. It’s simple to do and I have the benefit of being able to listen to my Apple Music Library or Spotify as well as the new streaming feature app. Another thing, you can ask Siri anything you want and she has a voice with the Apple Watch 3 and will answer you.
I discovered the other day it’s actually waterproof. I dived into the pool and thought that would be the end of my new toy, not so, water resistant up to 50 metres. From a fashion perspective so many options, I may have a collection of bands already. You know you’re one of the cool kids when even Hermes create a range of wrist bands to pair with the Apple Watch 3. These slide on and off easily and the choices are endless.
So the verdict is in, I’m seriously in love with my Apple Watch 3. I’ve even invested in a Belkin charging station that does my iPhone and Watch. It’s difficult to comprehend that I haven’t owned one before now but I think the wait was worth it and Series 3 takes technology capabilities to a whole new level.
