Want glowing skin?
I really love the beginning of a New Year. I feel refreshed after the holidays, the kids are back at school and in a routine and I feel enthusiastic about the goals I want to achieve. Being a busy Mum though I find I’m guilty of not taking enough timeout for myself.
I was spoilt at Christmas time and gifted a voucher for some pampering at Lime Health & Beauty in Cotton Tree. I’ve been going to Lime for many years since moving to the Sunshine Coast and have regular appointments for maintenance, as I like to call it; waxing, eyelash tinting and the occasional massage. What is a rare treat for me though are Facials. Don’t get me wrong, I love them but sometimes the guilt kicks in and I feel like the budget should be spent in other areas. What I’ve learnt though and am happy to share with you is they’re not just an indulgent treat but essential for healthy skin and anti-aging. Yes, you read the last sentence correctly! It’s a fact that with each birthday comes the effects of a good life and we need to take care of our skin as we age. What I love about the treatments at Lime is owner Leigh Campbell and her team of professionals take the time to analyse your skin and adjust their services accordingly. There are many options to choose from but most facials take around an hour and include some type of massage which from experience are absolutely heavenly, I may have even fallen asleep at one point. I’m also a huge fan of the Dermalogica Face and Body Care products and Lime stocks a large range, including options for Men and teenagers in the household.
I asked Leigh for her top tips for glowing skin:
· Exfoliate, 1 -2 times a week and encourage your spouses to do the same
· Wear sunscreen when outdoors
· Regular facials every 4 – 6 weeks
Lime Health & Beauty was created by well-known local favourite Leigh Campbell 12 years ago and she has extensive industry knowledge and experience. Apart from pampering clients, Leigh is actively involved in our community and supports many charities with her generous spirit.
I’ll be 43 this August and as much as admitting that is difficult what I do know is I want to continue to feel good when I look in the mirror. Looking after my skin with quality skincare, a beauty therapist I trust and regular professional treatments is essential and from now on will be a priority.
