HUNGRY FEEL ADDICTIVE

There is simply nothing I love more in life than food! You could say it’s a bit of an obsession. If I’m not talking about it; I’m cooking, tasting & drooling in my kitchen or planning my next culinary adventure, that’s code for reservations. I am, without a doubt a self-proclaimed foodie.

One of the things I crave the most is those moments when my tastebuds sing and I’m left wanting more. The Sunshine Coast is overflowing with these types of experiences but one of my absolute favourite places to savour is at the Hungry Feel Eating House in Buderim. My family and I have been enjoying this local haunt even before we moved to the Coast and venture up the hill as often as possible. One of the things you’ll notice when you visit is you don’t just place an order at the Hungry Feel, these guys know their stuff and tempt your palette with their knowledge, passion and commitment to showcasing the best of the Sunshine Coast on a plate. This is just one of the things that make me a fan, owners Chris and Larissa source their produce from local producers and suppliers which I believe set them apart and give them that real point of difference. Fresh burrata from the Cedar Street Cheeserie in Maleny, locally caught fish from Point Cartwright Seafood and succulent figs from Marie and Geoff Shires fig and avocado farm in Woombye are just a few of the delicious tastes to enjoy when dining at the Hungry Feel.

The menu’s change seasonally as you’d expect but some favourites stay to keep the diehard fans like myself appeased. It’s difficult to narrow down my top list for you to try but here goes. For breakfast, I love the BBQ Pork Belly Banh mi, it’s delicious and makes the first meal of the day exciting. After my customary short black, I like to wash it down with a Pineapple and Mint Frappe. For something sweet, all house made by the way, you won’t be able to resist the Feels take on the humble Jam Drop, these little treats are worthy of a standing ovation. Lunch options are endless but the salads are always a hit with me. I love the BBQ organic lamb shoulder, with watermelon, mint, rocket, figs and labne, with a glass of Rose of course. A dinner must have is the Pork Escalopes, macadamia puree with pickled nectarines enjoyed with a glass or two of Riesling. If you still have room for dessert then the Vanilla Crème Brulee with fresh raspberries is a Hungry Feel favourite.

So if I have you salivating, you’re a regular or needing to check out what all the fuss is about then drop into the Hungry Feel sometime soon. Tell them I sent you but be sure to leave some Jam Drops on the counter for me, those heavenly morsels are addictive. Happy Eating!
